EINE  KOMMUNE  BEGEISTERT  SICH  FÜR  SKULPTUREN

DIE  KOMMUNE  REANA DEL ROJALE  LIEGT  IN  NORD-ITALIEN  IM  FRIAUL  NAHE  UDINE.  SEIT  NUNMEHR  11  JAHREN  LÄDT  DER  KULTURVEREIN  „CIRCOLO  CULTURALE  IL  FARO“  BILDHAUER  AUS  DER  GANZEN  WELT  ZUM  JÄHRLICHEN  STEIN-BILDHAUER-SYMPOSIUM. 
DIE  BEGEISTERUNG  IN  DER  BEVÖLKERUNG  IST  RIESIG.  JEDER  KANN  SICH  EINBRINGEN  UND  ALLE,  VON  TEENAGER  BIS  ZUR  OMA,  TRAGEN  DAZU  BEI. 
IN  DER  BEVÖLKERUNG  HERRSCHT  GROSSES  INTERESSE  AM  FORTGANG  DER  ARBEIT  UND  TÄGLICH  KOMMEN  SIE  UM  DER  ENTSTEHUNG  DER  SKULPTUREN  BEIZUWOHNEN.  SCHLIESSLICH  VERBLEIBEN  DIE  FERTIGEN  SKULPTUREN  ALLE  IM  GEMEINDEGEBIET  UND  VERSCHÖNERN  NICHT  NUR  DAS  BILD  DER  GEMEINDE  SONDERN  LOCKEN  MITTLERWEILE  TOURISTEN  AUS  DEM  IN-  UND  AUSLAND.
AUCH  DIE  ANZAHL  DER  SPONSOREN  IST  BEACHTLICH  ABER  ES  SIND  VOR  ALLEM  DIE  KLEINEN,  PERSÖNLICHEN  DINGE  DIE  DAS  LEBEN  FÜR  DIE  BILDHAUER,  WÄHREND  DER  HARTEN  ARBEIT  AM  STEIN,  VERSÜSSEN.  SO  DÜRFEN  WIR  EINEN  PRIVATEN  SWIMMINGPOOL  NUTZEN,  DIE  NACHBARN  KOCHEN  FRIAULISCHE  SPEZIALTÄTEN  UND  BIS  FRÜH  MORGENS  VERWEILEN  WIR  AUF  IRGENDWELCHEN  DINNER-PARTYS.  AUCH  DIE  HAUSEIGENE  CANTINA  IST  VOLL  WEIN.
UNSER  TEAM  IST  DIESMAL  DURCHWEGS  SPITZEN  MASSIG.  WIR  SIND  9 BILDHAUER/INNEN,  4  FRAUEN,  5  MÄNNER  UND  DIE  HÄLFTE  JUNG,  JA  ICH  GEHÖRE  JETZT  SCHON  ZUM  MITTELALTER…

The community of Reana del Rojale and their enthusiasm for sculptures.

Reana del Rojale is located in the area of Friaul not far from Udine in Northern Italy. For the last 11 years the cultural organization “Circolo Culturale il Faro” has been inviting sculptors from all over the world for its annual symposium.  The population of Reana del Rojale is full of enthusiasm since everyone - starting from young teenagers up to elderly grannies - is welcome to participate. They all show a particular interest in the progress of the works, and they come and watch the various stages of how a sculpture comes into being. After all, the finished sculptures remain within the community and they not only embellish the little town but meanwhile attract also tourists from in and outside Italy.

Inspite of the amazing amount of sponsors, there are these simple personal gestures of the population which sweetens the hard work of the sculptors. We could have a dip in a private swimming pool, and the women prepared the delicious local dishes for us. We enjoyed long dinner parties until the early morning hours and tasted the wines from their private wine cellars.  

Our team was absoluty first class! We were 9 sculptors – 4 women and 5 men - most of them were younger than me pushing me into the “middle-age” group.
